Introductory Permaculture Weekends May 8/9 (venue TBC) and July 10/11(Bath City Farm)
- 'Permaculture design is a practical way of reducing our environmental impact and improving life quality  by redesigning how we do everything to be sustainable. Cost £50, no experience is necessary, both are informal and participatory and include indoor and outdoor sessions. Please book early with full fees. Planning seminar Sunday 18th April, 11am to 3.30pm - organised by Transition Bath, this seminar will take us through the official planning/decision-making process by councils/central government, including national policy statements etc. and show where the ordinary citizen fits in - whether they are directly affected ( as neighbours of a proposed development for example) or as interested parties (eg. concerned about climate change/nuclear power/road developments etc.) It will also cover citizens' right to access information under the Freedom of Information Act which is important in building legal cases should objections go to a planning tribunal/ court. Cost £5, venue TBC. Numbers will be limited and also the seminar will not run if numbers are not sufficient so it is important to book asp. Contact: afrelmira@googlemail.com

Bath Festivals is looking for male singers to take part in Party in the City, 28 May 2010
on the first Friday of Bath International Music Festival. This year’s celebrations include an epic piece to open Party in the City: Performed by a 50 strong male choir, Wells Cathedral School brass ensemble, and led by Music Director Nigel Perrin, Thomas Wood’s The Rainbow receives its second ever performance – following the premiere at The Albert Hall in 1951 – and commemorates Dunkirk’s 70th anniversary. Black Environment Network (BEN) Presentation: is offering free training starting in May. Providing practical training in environmental issues that make a real difference to ethnic minorities. They will be making a short presentation of what the training is about and what you will gain from it, on 20th April 2010, 2.00pm to 3.00pm or 3.30pm to 4.30pm at Barton Hill Community Centre in Bristol.
