Wed 8 Harassment or Prejudice Event (HOPE) Dunster
Harassment or Prejudice Event (HOPE) - Tithe Barn Community Hall, Dunster. Event is for anyone who has experienced or is worried about being harassed or facing prejudice because off their race, faith, sexual orientation or disability. Find out more about what happens after such an incident is reported or share your experiences to help create better support services to others. Speakers include police, local authority, Crown Prosecution Service, Somerset Racial Equality Council and Witness Support Service, as well as someone with personal experience of this sort of incident. Information about support services and crime prevention advice will be available. There will be chance to ask questions of all the organisations involved in tackling the problem. bodies and local authority workers who offer funding advice to third
sector organisations. Groups who are planning to apply are also welcome

Tackling Street Weapon Culture Through Partnership
The Youth Crime Action Plan 2008 was
published in July and aims to send out a strong and clear message to
young people that violent crime in all its forms will no longer be
tolerated. This major one-day national conference, hosted by the Centre
for Parliamentary Studies, will provide an opportunity for local
practitioners to assess the key objectives of the action plan in
relation to tackling knife possession and reducing knife-related

The first Chain Reaction event will take place on London's South Bank. Chain Reaction is for social leaders — people who, regardless of where they work or live or how old they are, see a social problem and do something about it. Their actions then inspire others, and the chain grows. Chain Reaction will bring together world leaders with children, business leaders with micro social enterprises, those with power and those whose only power is their own actions.
