Train to Gain From January 09 third sector organisations will be eligible for an extended leadership and management programme through Train to Gain. Relaxed funding rules enable access to more flexible training support including: stand-alone accredited training modules and part-qualifications in areas like business systems, communications, and information technology; fully-funded level two qualifications and subsidised level three qualifications. Third Sector Skills - The Government plans a new Third Sector Skills Body to identify and address skills gaps and shortages for third sector organisations.

Government Funded Training Now Available For Volunteers.  Train to Gain provides funding for volunteers to complete an NVQ in a subject relevant to the work they do – all training takes place in the work place  volunteers must be 25 years or older and must not hold qualifications equivalent or above five GCSEs grade A-C. The Learning Curve is a voluntary sector education and training provider offering Train to Gain funded learning including National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) in courses such as Business Administration, Advice and Guidance and Customer Service. CVS Training Needs Survey - CVS aims to deliver training to the sector that is relevant, interesting, accessible and affordable. Please help us to meet this aim by spending a few minutes telling us what training you want, by completing our simple survey. The Survey is being organised By Karen Scott - Training Officer for CVS North Wiltshire, who will be delivering the next training programme in B&NES. Please ensure to include your contact details, so that we can let you know when we are running training relevant to you. Click here to take the survey.

6. Ladder4learning - you may also wish to visit the website of the ladder4learning project. The project is run by The Learning Curve (www.learningcurve.org.uk) and is funded by the Big Lottery.
The website www.ladder4learning.org.uk has a free on-line database of courses , workshops and other learning opportunities specifically useful to the Voluntary Sector in the South West of England . There is also an extensive library of workbooks, guidelines, summary and fact sheets which are all free to download, and resources for those looking for employment opportunities in the Sector
Trainers can advertise courses/learning opportunities on the website at no charge.
