National Indicators for Local Government - Oct 2007.  The NI7 indicator is crucial to the development of a thriving Third Sector and this document sets out the way in which national government is proposing to measure the extent to which each local authority area is achieving the creation of an environment in which the sector can thrive. Table One shows that B&NES and Wiltshire are both expected to demonstrate a 4.1 per cent improvement from 2008-2010. Appendix one usefully summarises how the measuring will be done and also the information gleaned from the pilot survey. In B&NES The VCS Steering Group is also exploring with the Council the possibility of additional local indicators to supplement this. Download NI7 here.
