Report drawing on a Local
Compact Voice survey conducted for Local Sector Independence Day,
4th July 2007. Looks at the key issues and problems surrounding
Local Sector Independence, identified from the results of the survey
and gives pointers for local public bodies and groups when
considering strengthening the Local Sector independence in their
area.

Provides a simple introduction to LAAs, making the
links between community activity and how people can influence

This joint publication by NAVCA, IDeA and Urban Forum, provides
information on how local authorities work and what they are
responsible for. It is designed to help people understand what their
council does and help community groups have a greater say in
decision-making. It also shows how people can get involved with
their council and explains what obligations councils have to involve
local people as well as containing tips on what steps to take to
improve relationships with councils. Hard copies of How Your Council
Works are available from Urban Forum and NAVCA, or can be downloaded

West of England Infrastructure Consortium West of England Consortium is a partnership of local infrastructure organisations from the three unitary authority areas of Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. The consortium aims to improve delivery of support services to the VCSE sector by providing accountable, representative and well resourced infrastructure for the West of England. It’s made up of generalist and specialist organisations and is one of 12 sub-regional consortia in the South West region.

B&NES Strategic Partnership Mapping Report
The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) Gives an analysis of outcomes for health and well being for people in Bath and North East Somerset. It is published in chapters corresponding to the main care groups, which include: (1) Overview - General Health and Social Care Needs of the Population; (2) Needs Assessment for Adults with Mental Health Disorders; (3) Health Profile of Older People; (4) Older People with Mental Health Needs; (5) Children and Young People. The information is updated regularly and can be found on the council's Local Strategic Partnership webpages.

Wiltshire Infrastructure Consortium
Wiltshire Infrastructure Consortium is a partnership
funded by Capacitybuilders. It consists of nine member organisations
who are working together to provide support, advice and information
to voluntary organisations and community groups all over Wiltshire.
Together the Consortium aims to create a stronger sector, where all
groups can achieve their aims and are able to influence local
decision making.

Wiltshire Community Plan 2011-2026 - Have Your Say! Wiltshire Council and the Wiltshire Assembly are currently developing the new Wiltshire Community Plan which will provide a framework for the next 15 years for all organisations and partnerships to work better together to improve life in the county. The proposed plan includes 22 objectives - from utilising renewable energy, to improving educational attainment and adapting services for an older population. This is a consultation draft so this if your opportunity to have your say on the plan. You may do so by completing the survey accessible via the webpage, which should take no more than five minutes.
